Creativity, a Quiet Mind, and How My New Book Was Written in One Afternoon

How This Little Book Wanted to Be Written

I originally wanted to translate my English book, “The Inner Game Of Food And Diet.
But in the back of my mind, for quite a while, I kept hearing a quiet whisper. It was saying that a very simple little book wanted to be written — a book that would give people insight into the Three Principles Understanding, a simple way to inner peace. Clear, quiet, loving and hopefully easy to understand and also easy to translate into many languages.

This quiet voice became louder when I sat down at my laptop to finally start the translation.
And suddenly it was clear:
No, this new book wants to be written right now.

So I started writing.
And the words just came.
The whole booklet was written in one afternoon.

Where Creativity Really Comes From

You probably know that your best ideas come when you are walking the dog, taking a shower, or driving the car. Why is that?
It is because your mind is quiet.
You step out of your busy life for a moment.
Your mind has time to settle, and in that quiet space, new creative ideas appear.

Most people keep their minds busy all day long. There is hardly any space for new, fresh, creative thinking. The day starts with looking at the phone, reading messages, talking, driving to work, listening to podcasts, thinking about meetings, phone calls, stress, sports after work, socialising, dinner, TV, and then bed.

There is almost no moment when the mind is quiet, when the mind can drift, when new ideas and creativity can appear naturally.

On top of that, we judge ourselves and think:
“I should be more creative.”
“I have to write.”
“I need a new idea.”
“I should get into a creative mood.”

But the more we try to force creativity, the more blocked we feel.

Creativity Happens When You Stop Trying

Creativity happens in the moments when you give yourself permission not to create.
When you take two steps back.
When you take your foot off the pedal.
When you don’t push.
When you don’t force ideas.

You have an intention, but then you let it go and you wait.
No “shoulds”, no pressure, no forcing.

And when the mind becomes quiet, something amazing happens.
Ideas appear.
Solutions appear.
Words appear.
New creations appear.

It is like holding a ball underwater.
As long as you push it down, you use a lot of effort.
The moment you let go, the ball comes back up by itself.

When the Mind Is Quiet, Creativity Flows

Creativity is like that.
You don’t have to create creativity.
You only have to stop pushing against it.

When the mind is quiet, creativity flows.
And when creativity flows, things get created almost effortlessly.

If This Resonates With You

Many of the people I work with are very creative and full of ideas. That’s usually why they are brilliant at what they do. And yet, many of them feel stuck, overwhelmed, or under pressure.

If this resonates with you and you feel that a quieter mind could change the way you work, create, and live, you are very welcome to book a non-binding conversation with me.
